Choosing a Topic

One of my choices for a topic goes along with environmental health, and it looks into how air quality effects health. My other choice would be how obesity effects one health. The article that I chose to work with is:
Mackenzie , J. (2016, December 15). Air Pollution: Everything You Need to Know. Retrieved January 28, 2017, from https://www.nrdc.org/stories/air-pollution-everything-you-need-know

I chose to work with this article for a couple of reasons. One of these reasons is that it relates greatly to the topic I am interested in. Along with this, it includes some important keywords such as, health, pollutants, greenhouse gasses, soot etc.

The peer reviewed article that i have chosen is:

G B PerryH ChaiD W DickeyR H JonesR A KinsmanC G MorrillS L Spector, and P C Weiser
American Journal of Public Health 1983 73150-56

The reason that I chose this paper is that it discusses and looks directly into what could be a huge health issue. These issues are much easier to see when looking at an asthmatic, due to the fact that they have already impaired breathing. Oddly, the study failed to find this relationship. This was confusing to me, due to the fact that you usually hear that pollution and particulate matter cause breathing irritation and issues. This fact did not necessarily discourage me though, it actually made me curious to see if this was backed up by other studies. If there is a significant we could look into improving the health and extending peoples lives, the entire purpose of public health.

This is the area that I left my research on. This particular article interests me, but I have not looked at it other than the title. I looked into a few other articles above the circled, but they did not turn out to be the way I wanted them to be.
